Top 5 essentials for a recruitment website. Ensure your website adheres to these top 5 to ensure online recruitment success. Read more...

The pace at which recruitment is moving online is astounding. In the past, having a website was not a priority, but now it is an essential. With the march on for greater mobility, improved service and the ability for your customers to interact with you online, having a professional interactive website is now a critical factor in your agencies success.

So what should a good recruitment site have to add value to your business. Here is my Top 5

Design and Layout

Your site should be clean and uncluttered. Less is more in this instance and first impressions last. Your site should clearly state it’s purpose, and a clear call to action. For the majority of recruitment sites, it will be clear links to the vacancies available and where a candidate can submit a CV.

Once you have grabbed your viewers attention, you may place additional information about your company, your services and why they should be using you above all others. A clear navigation menu is key to reducing frustration from your website visitor.

Job listings

You run a recruitment business don’t you? Then your site should have all of your jobs listed online…that is why people visit your site, they want a new job. Your job listings should be up to the minute so all visitors get to see all the opportunities. It’s best equated to going into a shop to purchase an item that you want…lets say a handbag, and the shop has none displayed (they’re all hidden away in the back). Would you return to that shop? Same goes for a website. If there are no jobs listed, or they are not kept up to date, there is no reason to return to your site. Check the resources at the bottom of this article for links on how to make this happen.

Capture CV’s online

There are varying degrees about how people define capturing CV’s online. I’m not talking about giving your candidate an email address to use (this is a start, however you then need to process all of these CV’s emailed to you!). We’re talking about the ability to capture a prospective candidates CV directly into your database without the need to process the huge numbers that may contact you. This will give you the biggest advantage in saving time and processing applicants.

Contact information

Sounds obvious, but it is amazing how many sites don’t clearly display how you can get in touch with them. Ensure your site has the relevant contact information so prospective candidates and clients can get in touch.

Useful information

People need education to make informed decisions. Job seekers come to you as you are experts in recruitment and they expect to get some pearls of wisdom to help them on their quest for employment. Make sure your site provides informative and useful information which will aid a job seeker in their search for employment.
